6-7 day Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang route
Kunming -> Dali -> Lijiang -> Kunming / Lijiang departure
A shorter Yunnan route that keeps the sellable Dali and Lijiang core, while cutting Shangri-La before altitude and transfer pressure damage the trip.

Day by day, matched to the route family.
The route below keeps the conversion promise clear. Confirm gateway timing, realistic transfers, comfort level, and which optional extension truly belongs before the route is fixed.
Kunming arrival and easy dinner around Green Lake / old city / hotel area if timing allows. Choose the hotel base first, then use only a light nearby walk or meal so arrival fatigue does not damage the next full day.
Kunming to Dali, then Dali Old Town and Erhai Lake edge. Keep the first Dali evening slow so the route starts feeling like Yunnan, not only transport.
Dali slow day: Xizhou village, Erhai cycling / lakeside drive, cafes, market, or Cangshan only if weather and energy fit. This is the day to protect atmosphere.
Dali to Lijiang, then Lijiang Old Town or Shuhe evening. Do not add Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the transfer day. Protect luggage handling, station or airport time, and hotel check-in before adding sightseeing.
Lijiang day: Baisha, Shuhe, Lijiang Old Town, or Jade Dragon Snow Mountain / Blue Moon Valley only if tickets, weather, altitude, and walking comfort fit. Treat weather, light, walking load, and queue time as part of the route plan; cut secondary viewpoints before weakening the main scene.
Depart Lijiang or return toward Kunming. If flights are late, use a light Baisha / Shuhe / old-town morning. Keep the morning close to the hotel, station, or airport, and add only one nearby stop if the transfer time is already secure.
Optional buffer for a slower Dali or Lijiang base; use it for weather, photography, markets, or a more comfortable departure, not for forcing Shangri-La. Keep the morning close to the hotel, station, or airport, and add only one nearby stop if the transfer time is already secure.

Lower altitude and cleaner pacing over checklist coverage.
Should this stay lower-altitude, or is the traveler trying to force Shangri-La into too few days?
