5 day Xiamen, Tulou, and Quanzhou route
Xiamen -> Gulangyu -> Fujian Tulou -> Quanzhou -> Xiamen / Quanzhou departure
A more complete Southern Fujian route where Xiamen opens the coast, Tulou carries the countryside heritage, and Quanzhou adds Maritime Silk Road culture without becoming a checklist.

Day by day, matched to the route family.
The route below keeps the conversion promise clear. Confirm gateway timing, realistic transfers, comfort level, and which optional extension truly belongs before the route is fixed.
Arrive in Xiamen and use the evening for old-city food around Zhongshan Road or Siming only if timing is comfortable. Keep the first night practical because the route has two heritage chapters ahead.
Give Gulangyu a protected ferry window, then add one Xiamen layer by style: South Putuo, Shapowei, Baicheng, Huandao Road, or Zhongshan Road. Do not make this a full city checklist before Tulou.
Travel to the Nanjing Tulou area for Tianluokeng, Yuchanglou, and Taxia, or choose a slower Yunshuiyao-style line. Overnight nearby if the group wants less road pressure; otherwise return only after the core Tulou visit is complete.
Give Quanzhou a focused old-city and maritime-culture day: Kaiyuan Temple and West Street first, then Qingjing Mosque, Guanyue Temple, Tumen Street, or the Maritime Museum by interest. Confirm tickets, opening hours, walking load, and the order of the main visit before adding optional neighborhood stops.
Finish in Quanzhou or return to Xiamen according to flight and rail logic. Add only one light food, West Street, or heritage stop; Wuyishan belongs to the longer Fujian route, not this five-day version.

Much richer than a Xiamen-only route, but hotel-base, Tulou road time, and Quanzhou transfer decisions matter.
Should this stay a clean Southern Fujian culture route, or is the traveler trying to add too many heritage stops?

Quanzhou should be sold as a focused cultural extension, not a place to stack every temple, museum, village, and food stop.

Decide whether Tulou is a day trip or overnight before booking hotels.
Decide whether Quanzhou gets an overnight or a long day from Xiamen.
Do not add Wuyishan unless the route grows to seven days or more.
